Alvorada XXXV - Timeless (+ptl, es, fr)

A timeless and spiritual
earth-creature
sits in front of
an alien,
silicon-based
technology,
fascinated.

By whom
have we been
invaded?

[portunhol surenho]

Um eterno y espiritual
criatura terrestre
senta na frente de
uma tecnología
alienígena,
baseada em silício,
fascinado.

Por quem
temos sido
invadido?

hemos sido
invadido?

The seasons are changing, and here in South America (my part of it, anyway), we are now in late fall. Today was an almost summery day, high temperature about 22C/72F, with a mix of clouds and sun. I'm sure that it was one of the last such days we'll get until next spring. It was a good enough day that I was able to clean the swimming pool (au naturel, of course!), and work on my all-over tan. Before starting work, I snapped the picture below to send to my readers, with my greetings.

This poetry blog has now passed the 35,000-visit milestone. We are now getting about 2,200 visits to the poems per month. This strikes me as being pretty good, especially at a time when people supposedly don't read much. I see evidence of a lot of interest in poetry, and that interest is distributed all over the planet. It seems to me that we need poetry to keep the world in balance.

Having said all that, I would like to thank all of you for your kindness and support, and for helping to keep my world in balance.

Gymnós XXVII - My Age Is Showing (+ptl, es, fr, ud ꭴꮪꭹ)

My age is showing,
but who cares?
I am proud to be
a survivor
of three quarters
of a century.
I eat moderately
and, like Lalla,
wear as little
as the world
will permit.
In my house,
summer and winter,
I am the same.

[portunhol surenho]

Minha idade está aparecendo
mas quem se importa?
Tenho orgulho de ser
um sobrevivente
de tres quartos
de um século.
Eu como moderadamente
e, igual que Lalla,
uso tan pouca roupa
como o mundo
permitirá.
Na minha casa,
verano e inverno,
eu sou igual.

Estoy orgulloso de ser

Mon âge se montre,
mais qui s'en soucie?
Je suis fier d'être
un survivant
de trois quarts
d'un siècle.
Je mange modérément
et, comme Lalla,
je porte aussi peu de vêtements
comme le monde
permettra.
Dans ma maison,
été et hiver,
je suis le même.

Gymnós XXVI - Grateful (+ptl, es, fr, ud ꭴꮪꭹ)

When I think of
the twists and turns
of three quarters
of a century,
I have to give
this body some credit.
I have to be grateful
to my ancestors
for healthy genes,
grateful to many
in this life,
and grateful
to life itself.

[portunhol surenho]

Quando penso em
as voltas y reviravoltas
de tres quartos
de um século,
eu tenho que dar
algum crédito a este corpo.
Eu tenho que ser grato
aos meus antepassados
por genes saudáveis,
grato a muitos
nesta vida,
y grato
a la mesma vida.

Cuando pienso en
los giros y vueltas
de tres cuartos

Tengo que dar
algo de crédito a este cuerpo.
Debo estar agradecido
a mis antepasados
por genes saludables,
agradecido a muchos
en esta vida,
y agradecido
a la vida misma.

Quand je pense à

Gymnós XXV - We Are All Naked (+ptl, es, fr, ud ꭴꮪꭹ)

We are all naked
under our clothes.
When the clothes
become indispensable,
when they become a disguise,
when they become us,
that is the problem.

Gymnós XXIV - Stepping Out of the Mirror (+ptl, es, fr)

Stepping out of the mirror,
I stepped into my skin,
and a place I had visited
became my home.
Now there is no
going back.

[portunhol surenho]

Saindo do espesho,
eu pisei na minha pele,
y um lugar que eu tinha visitado
tornou-se minha casa.
Agora non hay
volta.

Gymnós XXIII - My Everyday Uniform (+ptl, es, fr)

nature,
and be free.
