She hides in the midst
of what we think is real,
always nearby,
looking out at us,
mocking.
The Other is from
Elsewhere,
and we worship,
uncomprehending.
Her beauty resides
in her truth.
She is our law,
and her name,
which cannot be written
or pronounced,
brings joy.
