98,000 Visits and Other Blog Statistics

Today we are passing the milestone of 98,000 visits to this blog, since its inception a little more than four years ago. I'm always trying to understand who my readers are, and where the visits come from.  Below is a graphic that lists eleven of the thirteen countries from which visits came on one recent day:

As you can see, the visits were predominantly from North and South America, Europe, and Asia. We do also get some visits from Africa, but not nearly as many as I would like to be getting.

I've also studied the patterns of popularity of different subject matter/genres. General poetry and photography are always popular, as is also the case with my writings on the Synoptic Problem and original and translated religious texts. Writings in and about the Udugi language also continue to be surprisingly popular.

It is easier for me to tell you what is important to me than what is important to my audience. In fact, I did this in a recent poem, published on November 21:

I Am Normalizing

I am normalizing poetry,

I am normalizing art,

I am normalizing nudity,

in a battered and tattered

world

that at times I hardly

recognize.

But beyond these lesser battles,

let us normalize

our love for each other,

our unity through our diversity,

the strength and mutual aid in our humanity.

In short, let us normalize

Spirit.

May that Spirit guide us, always.

As usual, I would like to thank all of you for your continued interest and enthusiasm. Be well and be safe.

Upanishad LXXX - The Ego (2) /

The ego makes us slaves to the senses, and imprisons us within the cycle of birth and death. Only meditation on the pure consciousness of Brahman can liberate us.

Nagna says:

Meditation is the key that makes us free.

Upanishad LXXIX - The Ego /

The ego, the feeling that "I am the doer,"

blinds us to the truth of who we are.

Nagna says:

The truth is bigger and better than our illusion.

Upanishad LXXVIII - How Can We Be the Physical Body? /

How can we be the physical body,

and the subtle body,

and the Atman,

and the Atman is also Brahman?

We are only Consciousness.

Nagna says:

We are multidimensional beings. We are Consciousness.

Upanishad LXXVII - The Subtle Body Is Also Illusion /

The subtle body is also illusion,

it cannot be the Atman.

Nagna says:

The Astral body cannot be the imperishable Self, because it is tied to a single lifetime.

Upanishad LXXVI - He Has Leapt Centuries

He has leapt centuries and millennia to visit us,

perhaps worlds, too.

Nagna says:

We do not yet know the reason for his visit.

Hold This Moment

Hold this moment in your heart,

for it's the only time we have.

Love all those who brought you here,

for nothing is greater than the power of love.

Willingly receive and willingly give ,

for in that way we truly live.

Bear in mind from sun to sun

that all of us are truly one.

Upanishad LXXV - Who Are You?

Who is this man,

who gives us a question

instead of an answer?

Nagna says:

He gives us a single question, equal to a book or to a lifetime: "Who am I?"

Comment: The question is not about the writer; it's for the reader to ask of her/himself.

He steps out of the past

and strides into the future.

To him, there is no time.

Nagna says:

He is operating on the Astral plane.

When Nature Invades the Office

When nature invades the office,

then we shall work as one.

We'll get our work done quickly,

so we'll have more time for fun.

We'll show our true identities,

and know each other well.

We'll have no need of pretenses,

and secrets can go to hell.

We'll all be in it together,

and hierarchy will seem quite rude.

We'll treat each other better,

when all of us work in the nude.

Upanishad LXXII - I Am Not This Body

I am not this body,

so why do I show it to you?

I am not this name,

so why do I tell it to you?

Relaxed, we bask in the knowledge

that we burn with a single flame.

Upanishad LXXI - Coming Forth by Day

The Egyptian Book of the Dead is called "Pert em Hru," which means "Coming Forth by Day," or "Coming into the Day." The subject of the book is what we call the "hereafter," or the "afterlife." But our names for it are incorrect. We should really call it the "before-and-after life," because we leave it to experience physical life, and then we go back to it. The Egyptians were wrong in thinking that it was like physical life and therefore leaving food in the tomb, but they were correct in associating it with light.

The typical Near Death Experience involves a bright light at the end of a tunnel. Many describe the "other side" as a sunny beach (I myself was shown this by a dear friend who had recently passed away). Typically, one is met my family members, dear friends, and even beloved pets. You may laugh; I don't. I know that it is true.

How is this possible? How can it be that the body dies, but "we" don't die?

The answer is that we are multidimensional beings. We are energy-personality-essences (Jane Roberts' term), inhabiting multiple planes at the same time. When the body dies, a vacancy is created on one of those levels, which will eventually be filled, but the others are unaffected.

Upanishad LXX - The World Wrongly Teaches /

The world wrongly teaches that the good and pure (sattva) is insipid, material pleasures (rajas) liberate, and that intoxication (tamas) is uplifting. But the world stands reality on its head. When we dive into physical life, we dive into illusion and ignorance. If the world is your teacher, you are lost.

Nagna says:

The medicine for tamas and rajas is sattva, and its taste delights the soul.

but the subtle body is the seat of dreams, desires, and karma.

The physical body dies, but the subtle body does not.

Upanishad LXII - This Body /

This body of blood and bone

is the seat of action in the world,

but when this body is gone,

the subtle body goes on.

Nagna says:

The subtle body, called Astral in the west, survives physical death.

97,000 Visits and High Anxiety

Today, November 1 2020, we are passing the milestone of 97,000 visits to this poetry/writing/photography blog. We were at 96.5K just six days ago. These 500 visits came from 38 different countries. See the following two graphics for a partial listing of the countries from which visits came in the last seven days:

As I said, it's a partial listing, and 19 countries that were sources of only single visits are not shown. I am pleased that visits to the blog are coming from such a diversity of countries.

We are steering a steady course. The Upanishad poem-series now has 56 parts, and the goal is 108. I am never able to predict what will be in the blog, because the Muse decides that. For now, she seems to be saying, "steady as she goes."

As always, thanks to you all for your continued interest and enthusiasm.

I didn't really say anything about the "high anxiety," did I? Maybe next time. We are too close to it right now.
