My God is Life

My God is Life,
real and unadorned,
older than the earth,
ancient, primeval.
No scriptures describe it,
since it antedates
and supersedes them.
I see it, though,
in you, in your eyes,
in the contours of
your body, the sacred
vehicle of this
moment,
and in mine.
I worship Life
in you.
Please worship it also
in me.
