We have now reached the milestone of 178,000 page-views in this blog. I thought we would be stuck on 177k forever. In reality, though, it only took two months to go from 177k to 178k. That shows how subjective we can be about things.
At the end of January, I lost my beloved wife. That brought a sea-change in every area of my life, and is still doing so. One cannot lose one's constant companion of 45 years without noticing a huge difference in every part of one's life.
I find myself in a retirement facility where I do not belong (at least, not yet). Fortunately, events conspired to convince me, not only that I need to get out of here, but that I need to return to Uruguay. This is something that Sandy dreamed of doing, but her health did not permit it.
So, I've put a deposit on a house in Uruguay, and hope that the transaction will close soon. I will have a great house, just a few blocks from the beach in Parque del Plata. Our dog, Betty, is going back, too.
