My Roots Are in Africa

My roots are in Africa,
and so are yours.
No matter how many
thousands of years
your illustrious forebears
spent in Europe or Asia,
we are descended from Pygmies,
and descend is the word.
Those small forest-dwellers
knew their own way,
were self-sufficient,
and did no harm
to the earth.

Do that if you can,
in the land of your birth.
