Upanishad LXXI - Coming Forth by Day

The Egyptian Book of the Dead is called "Pert em Hru," which means "Coming Forth by Day," or "Coming into the Day." The subject of the book is what we call the "hereafter," or the "afterlife." But our names for it are incorrect. We should really call it the "before-and-after life," because we leave it to experience physical life, and then we go back to it. The Egyptians were wrong in thinking that it was like physical life and therefore leaving food in the tomb, but they were correct in associating it with light.

The typical Near Death Experience involves a bright light at the end of a tunnel. Many describe the "other side" as a sunny beach (I myself was shown this by a dear friend who had recently passed away). Typically, one is met my family members, dear friends, and even beloved pets. You may laugh; I don't. I know that it is true.

How is this possible? How can it be that the body dies, but "we" don't die?

The answer is that we are multidimensional beings. We are energy-personality-essences (Jane Roberts' term), inhabiting multiple planes at the same time. When the body dies, a vacancy is created on one of those levels, which will eventually be filled, but the others are unaffected.

Upanishad LXX - The World Wrongly Teaches /

The world wrongly teaches that the good and pure (sattva) is insipid, material pleasures (rajas) liberate, and that intoxication (tamas) is uplifting. But the world stands reality on its head. When we dive into physical life, we dive into illusion and ignorance. If the world is your teacher, you are lost.

Nagna says:

The medicine for tamas and rajas is sattva, and its taste delights the soul.
