She, the blessed goddess MahAmAyA, seizes the minds even of the wise,
and throws them into delusion.

When called to mind in a difficult situation, you remove fear for every person. When called to mind by those in happiness, you bestow a mind still more pious. Which goddess but you, oh dispeller of poverty, pain, and fear, has an ever-sympathetic heart for helping everyone?

Salutation to you, oh Narayani, you who are intent on saving the dejected and distressed who take refuge in you, oh Devi, who remove the sufferings of all!

Oh queen of all, you who exist in the form of all, and possess every might, save us from error, oh Devi. Salutation to you, Devi Durga!

When satisfied, you destroy all illness; but when angry, you destroy what is desired. No calamity befalls those who have sought you. Those who have sought you become truly a refuge of others.

O Queen of all, you must cure all the ills of the three worlds,
and in the same manner, bring about the destruction of our enemies.

I'm happy to say that today, after slightly less than one year of existence, this poetry blog reached the milestone of 20,000 visits. Thank you all for your support.

अग्रतोऽमुं महादॆवकृतं  कीलकवारणम् |
निष्कीलञ्च तथा कृत्वा पठितव्यं समाहितैः ||16 ||

agrato.amuM mahAdEvakRRitaM  kIlakavAraNam |

Mahadeva had earlier ordained the restraint of this pin.
Having been thus unlocked, it is to be recited by those who are (mentally?) collected.

kIlakastotram 15

चण्डिकां हृदयॆनापि यः स्मरॆत् सततं नरः |
हृद्यं काममवाप्नोति हृदि दॆवी सदा वसॆत् || 15 ||

chaNDikAM hRRidayEnApi yaH smarEt satataM naraH |
hRRidyaM kAmamavApnoti hRRidi dEvI sadA vasEt || 15 ||

One who always remembers ChaNDikA in his heart
obtains his heart's desire. In his heart the Devi will always live.

Rulership (is achieved) by pleasing Her, as well as beauty and prosperity, good health,
destruction of enemies, and supreme liberation. Why shouldn't She be praised by people?

kIlakastotram 13

शनैस्तु जप्यमानॆऽस्मिन् स्तोत्रॆ सम्पत्तिरूच्चाकैः |
भवत्यॆव समग्रापि ततः प्रारभ्यमॆव तत् || 13 ||

shanaistu japyamAnE.asmin stotrE sampattirUchchaakaiH |
bhavatyEva samagrApi tataH prArabhyamEva tat || 13 ||

Even when this hymn is chanted slowly, the prosperity is high,
and there is fulfillment there. One should, therefore, begin.

kIlakastotram 12

सौभाग्यादि च यत्किञ्चिद् दृश्यतॆ ललनाजनॆ |
तत्सर्वं तत्प्रसादॆन तॆन जप्यमिदं शुभम् || 12 ||

saubhAgyAdi cha yatkiJNchid dRRishyatE lalanAjanE |
tatsarvaM tatprasAdEna tEna japyamidaM shubham || 12 ||

Beauty, auspiciousness, and whatever else is seen in women,
all this is through (the Devi's) grace. For that reason, this auspiciousness (Devi Mahatmyam) should be chanted.
