L'égout / The Drain

They come to Paris

from all over the world

to spit in the drain

where the greats have spat,

and see their reflection

in the sullen water.

They spit with insouciance,

and try to scrye

a different destiny.

I Saw My Next-life Self

I saw my next-life self:

blond hair,

bright eyes,

smiling too,

sunnier than Don,

like Goldie Hawn.

I guess she'll do.

The Illusion

becomes more transparent,

it gets thin

around the edges,

and we see

There is nothing to say

about a naked person;

they are in their natural
